Communications Technician
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Support our wireless point-to-point and broadband installations
- Design and deploy systems for current and new customers
- Support our customer-service staff in technical demonstrations
- Program two-way radios, pagers, PDAs and mobile phones
- Ensure systems are field tested and shipped on time
- Bench test equipment prior to installation and shipping
- Troubleshoot and answer technical questions for our customers
- Provide business and industrial security systems service, installation and support
- Install software and provide training on various security products
- Install, service and maintain access-control, burglar and video solutions
- Remain up to date on the latest technology, including IP-based systems, hardware, software and network capabilities
- Service and maintain marine navigation and communications systems
- Install and service GPS-based solutions
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of public and private two-way radio systems, logic-trunked radio (LTR) and other radio systems
- Industry experience as a trouble shooter on device, network and software solutions
- Installation and programming capabilities
- Proven success working in a strong team environment
- Willingness to learn about, understand and work with the latest in technological advancements
- Driven by sense of urgency and desire to meet customer expectations
- Keen ability to work in the field and trouble-shoot technical issues with little or no supervision
